adm8211 problems (again)

Hey,

I downloaded the latest driver for my wlan card (adm8211 1.05).
I have a network with a Windows XP PC as router (for ICS & DHCP). All other PCs are able to use the internet without problems. I'm running debian (woody) on my PC, kernel 2.4.25. I compiled the driver and loaded it, configured everything. My WLAN device is eth1, so when I type iwconfig eth1 i get an overview where ESSID, Channel, Rate, Link Quality is OK, the green LED is blinking all the time ... However when i type ifconfig eth1 i can see that i don' have an IP address (iface eth1 inet dhcp in interfaces). If i assign one with ifconfig eth1 [IP] i can't ping any other PC. If i set a static IP:

iface eth1 inet static
address 192.168.0.2
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1 //which is the real gateway

i get the same problem.
If i use eth0 (which is non-wireless) and dhcp, everything works fine! Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help,
impic.

Have you tried

dhclient eth1

to get an ip after configuring with iwconfig?

Is encryption enabled on your router?

I found the problem:

my access point had 64-bit encryption enabled - i switched to 128-bit and now it works...

thanks anyway - impic
