Dear all,
two days now I am using xfce and I like it
Few questions though
- I have increased the font size to 16 as I am working on a laptop with very small screen. The problem now is that some windows (for example in opera-->settings-->preferences) are larger than the screen so ok and cancel buttons are not visible. There is no scroll bar also to scroll down and see remaining parts of the window!! I am not sure if xfce can do smething for that through xfce panel
-I am looking for smart taskbars placements that can save space without limiting too much the functionality provided. Any ideas on that?
- Are there also ways for customizing window bar(place where window title is) width (height)?
- Mouse Pointer : I want to have a large mouse pointer to be easier visible. I have changed through control panel the size but when the mouse goes over window title they become really small...

Usually font sizes are customized from the options within browser, unless, in the browser it is declared to get from the system configuration. Therefore, set the browser NOT to ALLOW system font sizes; see it from the options.

Easily done from within Xfce. Just go to Menu -> Settings -> Panel. If you want to do it the geek way you can edit your own ~/.config/xfce4/panel or from ~/.local/share.

Very much, you can customize your window appearance. Menu -> Settings -> Appearance or Window Tweaks

REgards
Alex
Just the same: Menu -> Settings -> Mouse
In case you cannot locate, do it this way:
Press Alt+F2
Type
Code:
'xfce4-settings-manager'
<Enter> or click 'Run'
I use Xfce four years now and I have not stopped loving it. Meddling with tweaks will someday end up xfce4 windows missing the proper place and cannot be moved; there is very easy way fixing that. Come back when your time comes.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

If you don't get it right, below can be a workaround. Not sure if it works in xfce, but I think it does.
Keep <alt> pressed, click anywhere in the window with the mouse and drag the window so the non-visible parts become visible.
// Edit
After seeing your screenshot (next post), that solution is not going to work

Reason: Added the edit
a.Window cut in middle. Check in the screenshot here that at the bottom part of the window there is more content that does not appear and there is no slide bar to move down. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/17/13pm.png/
b.Windows Title is "Boot Loader Yast" How can I increase the width of this blue bar? Have not found anything to the places you suggested me
c- I configured the buttons alt+1 and alt+2 to move windows to the corresponding workspaces. When I press them window not only goes to the right workspace but that also switches workspace. How can I take out the last action?
d. Mouse Pointer indeed increased but when it, for example, goes over panel it turns again to a very small black one
e. I have installed parole as media player. Which codecs I have to install for mp3 and xvid vidx content?
Lets start from scratch

Not characteristic of Xfce. It is more a problem of X display or driver: but definitely not Xfce.

Not characteristic of Xfce either.

What distro you run, and what version of Xfce?
Best way is to reinstall Xfce. If that is the case how can you ever enjoy for two days? That's irritating, not enjoyable; and typically not xfce.

Check your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and declare the proper mouse driver.

Has nothing to do with Xfce either.
The way I look at your problem, it is more than just a matter of windowing configuration, it is a matter of Xorg configuration or it needs reinstallation of Xfce.
Yea I see your image, and found nothing wrong with it.

As you can see my windows is cut in middle without the possibility of looking at the lower part of the window
Any tips ?
Do you mean bottom task bar is not visible? Can you right click anywhere on desktop and trigger Menu? Xfce4 offers two initial desktop profiles: one which is empty --this is intended for those who wanted to configure his interface according to taste because the strong point of xfce is its own ability to get configured easily by the user; then the other one is 'basic' task bars which again offers the Menu and few basic icons. Have you chosen the empty one?
Try this:
Right anywhere on desktop Menu -> Settings -> Session and Startup -> Session -> Clear Saved Sessions then Logout WITHOUT SAVING the current session. Then login again, you are offered a fresh beginning.
If right click doesn't work then reach the same commands this way:
Alt+F2 then type this: "/usr/bin/xfce4-session-settings" <Enter or Run> you will reach the same configuration session menu, clear the saved sessions then click tab 'General' uncheck 'Automatically Save Session on Logout'. Logout and uncheck the prompt to save (without saving). Login again and see what comes up.
If it doesn't work, do it again. This time before logout clear the cache:
Quote:
~$ rm -fr ~/.cache
Login again.
Hope that helps.

Hm.. regarding the image. Do not you see at the bottom part the disabled "Console arguments"? Where is the ok and cancel buttons in this window? They are hidden and there is no scroll bar in this window to move further down to reveal those.
