Unhappy RH 8 and UNICODE (great news!)

Hello folks!

I just changed to RH 8 and now I am having problems with X:
RH now uses Unicode 8, that (at least should be) is much more flexible for international characters. But that is causing problems....

Inside X, there is no way to show words with accent. Only a square with some hex inside. Mount also yield: instead of an accent in file names, it puts an "?"...

Does anybody knows how do I solve that?

Thanks!
Rafa

Great news!!!

Even in the bugzilla people couldn`t help me....

But I found the source of the problem: If I go to gnome character map, I am able to use any character I want. I discovered that instead of X inpout method, it uses the default (kernel) set.

tks!
Does anybody knows how do I change The X`s character set??

Don't know how to help, but I have the same problem... German accented characters (umlaut) and buckel-S don't show up in the system but show up fine in Mozilla. My problem is I need to make changes to these german web pages, but once the html is downloaded opened in an editor on my linux machine, the accented characters turn into strings of boxes like this:
Ã[]Â[]¼
