Thanks slackie,
After my original post I managed to find the help
for ./configure. (./configure -h) whodathunkit?
But for some reason ./configure --with-libexif=no
didn't work. It still kept asking for libexif.
I managed to find a version of libexif and was able
to install it.
I no longer get hangs and timeouts when capturing images
but now it hangs when I download the image from the camera.
Sheesh! Upgrading just moved the problem from the capture
command to the download command.
All I need is a way to capture, download, and erase
an image from my camera that is scriptable.
I prefer to script in Perl.
Any ideas?
I guess I can give gphoto2 one last try when I get
my other camera home.
