mp3-tags

Hi folks hace just started using a new to me dj app, Sam Broadcaster. All my songs ect, are stored on Ubuntu.

Some of my songs have not got a suitible tag, within them, hoever the file name, is properly formed.

Is there program or script, to re-tag my 3000+ songs from the filename?

cheers

EasyTag can do this in batch (tell it the layout of the filename and it will generate the correct ID3 tags). It's a pretty nice niche program with some useful features. Alternatively, I'm sure a all-in-one player like rhythmbox or songbird has this feature. For EasyTag do this to install it from the command line:

Quote:
sudo apt-get install easytag

You can also run mp3tag using wine.

thanks everyone, tring easy tag first then move on to the windows proglet.

Easytag the way to go. I didn't have to anything, go to dir, and made the changes by it self. shame, it didn't save them auto too. did this when I tried to change dir. The slow bit, now! Turns into 4400+ thats jingles too.

Thanks folks
