kernel oops modrobe-major-108

I made a new kernel today but it turned out a bit too lean. I did not provide the support for pppoe. For a SNAT box this is somewhat of a problem. Anyone know what i missed?
thanks

please see /usr/src/linux/Documentation/devices.txt
It provides a listing of major and minor numbers.
for example:

108 char Device independent PPP interface

Also the full message may be useful. You may also find useful info in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/oops-tracing.txt

Good luck to you
