how to uninstall folders/programs that do not have a move to trash option

greetings.

i am using ubuntu 8.04 and to set up my wireless i'm using Wicp.
to install properly it was necessary to remove network manager.
however although my wireless is finally working there is a folder named network manager that can't be removed. there is no move to trash option. can this be done in a terminal?

Yes. You can delete directories in the terminal using the rmdir command. See:

man rmdir

thank you for your speedy reply. i tried what you stated but it's not a directory that
i want to remove it's a folder in the Filesystem/etc directory. the folder is Network
manager and in it are two files dispatcher.d open it and it says 01ifupdown. perhaps i should
just leave it as everything else is okay.

rob.
