GMail command line mail client

Can anyone name a command line mail client that can retrieve "gmail"? [preferably without using some 3rd party software]

I'd say any pop3 client if you enable pop3 for your gmail account.

That doesn't depend on the software, it's dependant on the mail server setup. I doubt free e-mail providers have smtp support so usually you've to use your ISP-s mailserver.

Gmail provides SMTP and POP3, so all you need is a normal MUA. I use Thunderbird, but any POP3/SMTP client should do.

introuble, what do you mean by 3rd party software?
