Beryl/AIGLX Slight Stuttter in Fade-Ins/Fade-Outs

Hey, don't know if this has been covered - haven't found anything on the topic yet. But I managed to get Beryl/AIGLX installed under Ubuntu 6.10 and for awhile it has worked perfectly! Now, there is a slight stutter when I right click on the desk top. The menu comes up, but it is not smooth. However, it is smooth with I open menus within an app (like firefox). And when I click on the Ubuntu main menu button, it stutters coming up, but when i mouse over the menu options, it is smooth like it should be.

Is there an option in Beryl or something that can help me smooth it out? I don't recall changing anything before this started but who knows.

Thanks guys
