Server vendor / hardware question

Guys,

I need to help my client to by a server and I need some help from you.

The server will run ubuntu with KVM and need to have about 7 or 8 images running ubuntu as well. Each image should have about 2GB of RAM

I've never done that so I don't want just google it and chose something without a second opinion

This will be a VPS and wordpress server.

so what do you guys think?
what's a good vendor? What processor and how much memory ?

We have good luck with the Dell PowerEdge servers. We install RHEL rather than Ubuntu. Dell's support center has a Linux team that has gotten better over the years though as noted I usually am speaking to them about RHEL. I know at one point Dell was selling Laptops with Ubuntu as an option but don't know if they still do and if so how good their support for it is. However, if it will run RHEL it shouldn't be that hard to get Ubuntu going I'd think.

The hardware support itself is fairly good as well.
