iptables udp latency


How can I improve the latency on udp packets for games.

I am running the MonMotha's firewall script for iptables from
http://t245.dyndns.org/~monmotha/firewall/index.php

The latency is down to the network layer or the load of the destination system.

When you ping the ip address how many "ms" does it average.

Also try changing the Type of service flag on the external outgoing packets so you ISP's router prioritise them first with the option in your rule -t 0x01 0x10

example:
ipchains -A output -p tcp -s 0/0 1023:65535 -d 213.16.101.122 --dport 110 -t 0x01 0x10 -j ACCEPT
