I had a guy that was rude to me and others - he would continuosly degrade me for not googling things myself was I was a Linux newbie...

I changed my name to another name that isn't my real name, and the problem(s) with him stopped. Sad that I had to be the one doing that.

Never had another problem with him YET!

Anyways, this site is the best Linux source for help, we love you!

Wow. It seems like only yesterday that I found this amazing site for the first time. I can honestly say that LQ was absolutely critical to my early success as a newbie Linux Admin. Nearly 20 years later I am a happy Linux Systems Engineer working for a four letter government agency. Happy birthday LinuxQuestions and thank you Jeremy for everything you have done for the community.

Over the years a few forums have shut down, firstly moving to the centralised reddit, and then the private only Discord, only to die a death as new users can't find posts hidden from search engines.

Not LinuxQuestions!

Long live LinuxQuestions!

p.s. I've been a user since Mandrake 4. Just got my email hacked a few years ago, sadly.

p.p.s Any ideas to improve the forum? Hmm. I'm studying to be a reading expert at the moment.
I suppose you could:

- alternate colour code lines the menu on the right so it's easier to read

- put lightly more space between letters so it's slightly easier to read

- put slightly more space between lines so they're easier to read

- change the default zoom a bit so that things are easier to read. I always hit ctrl+ to zoom in a bit, but maybe some people never thought to do that

None of this is essential though. Just ideas.

And Reddit is already leaking users as well.
