how do i get the wheel of my kensington "mouse in a box scroll) to work, using slackware 9.1 with KDE?

i have tried in the controll centre under mouse and it has a feild for the lines scrolled but still dousent recognise the mouse, am using the noremal PS/2 mouse option as that was the closest on install.

being able to use teh scroll wheel would be relly usefull for me on linux as i am so used to it on windows... and i keep spinng a dead wheel
