Login Promp & "start" button

Hello everyone, this is my first post, I just installed Knoppix 3.3 on my second drive as a secondary OS (other one is w2k), and I really enjoy working on it. Just have to get used to getting around and locating everything and knowing where stuff are. Just want to start out with few questions,
First one, When Knoppix boots up, it boots up to a gui login screen, how do i change that so it comes up to a prompt screen only?

Second one, i am so used to hitting the "windows" button and getting the start menu, I was thinking of incorporating that into kde. I was wondering if its possible, if so how can i do it.

thx,
