I Need help to install fglrx driver for ATI Radeon 9600

I am trying to install ATI driver for linux (Radeon 9600 card) .I installed the rpm file. Then
cd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod
./make.sh
cd ..
./make_install.sh
fglrxconfig
to configure XF86Config-4 and evrything looks OK withouth any error , but
fglrxinfo doesn't show ATI driver( it shows mesa driver) and glxgears only 300 fps. I don't know where is the problem.
please tell me what else should I do to make it work.

Couple things that might help:

1. Make sure you have agpgart and fglrx loaded before you start X (modprobe blah blah).

2. Make sure the "UseInternel AGP" is tured from yes to no in your XFree86-4 config file.

Depending on what kind of motherboard you have you might need to load support for it in the kernel (I add this because I have a nForce board and it took me forever to relize that I didn't compile my kernel with nVidia chipset support)
