How can I expand my disk partition?


Hey there!
I have dual boot with win and ubuntu, and I need to use more memory from ubuntu.

I would suggest using gparted, but also to inspect how much space either is available now, or if there is space you'd wish to claim from another partition. Look first, determine if there's wasted space, determine how much space you want/need, determine any impact if you take this space from another os using it, and maybe suggest that you post this summary here to allow people to make some suggestions before you make any changes.

It would be helpful if you posted which windows version you are using since windows has been licensing their operating systems for 35 years?? Boot Ubuntu and open a terminal and run the following command and post the output here so we have some idea of what drive(s) partitions you have.

I have done it with GParted live CD
