grub.conf - Trying to dual boot XP and FC2

Hey,

I've installed Fedora Core 2 and Windows XP on my machine.

Fedora Core is on a 120GB IDE drive

XP is on 2 x 120GB SATA Drives (Striped)

I am using grub as my boot loader, and Fedora Core can boot up without problems.

However, when I select XP I am taken straight to the grub command line.

Could someone please take a look at my conf. file and let me know if you see a problem

#
title Windows XP
map (hd1) (hd0)
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
boot
#

Thanks
Andrew

This is what my Windows XP entry looks like (on Debian) in grub:

title Windows XP
root (hd0,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1

No problems here. Good Luck!

Jeez it worked, that was simple - I was busy trying to map drives every which way, unhide drives, man!

Thanks pibby

When you select Windows XP do you have an additional prompt like this one?

-----------------------------

Booting 'Windows XP'

root (hd0,0)
Filesystem is fat, partition type 0xc
makeactive
chainloader +1

Remove disks or other media
Press any key to restart

-----------------------------

Hmm, no I don't get any additional prompts, it just load the Windows XP loading screen... not sure what that prompt you're getting is.

Anyway, glad it worked out for you
