enable nvidia driver

hello,

i just installed ubuntu on my old pc (first time ever to use linux) anyway, i thought I would mess with the appearance settings. no problem there but it says i need to enable my nvidia driver... i select enable driver and i get some kind of error (guess i should have wrote it down) but it said something like i need to enable driver... well i did but it didnt

any thoughts on how to fix this or get it installed?
