Router/firewall/webserver 2 nics dsl question

Alright. To start. I am running redhat 9.
I am trying to setup my box to be a router/firewall/webserver.

It's pretty much a fresh install. I have my dsl running on ppp0 through eth0. Works fine *im typing this on it* I have been searching for days on how to get this to work and can't figure it out. I know i have to bridge it but maybe it's just not clicking in my head. Basically I need to masquerade it to more computers that are running xp *sadly*.

I think i should have this figured out. I use to run linux back when it was 5.0-6.0 days. But stopped for awhile.

I was just curious if anyone could point me in the right direction.

I think i need to setup eth1 as something like 192.168.1.x with netmaks 255.255.255.0

LIke I said any information is good info. I will/want to write a how-to once this gets done so it won't be so hard for people after and always a good reference. Lets say we are doing it in X (with gnome)

We start x.. open up network to configure it
Network configurator is open and i go to edit eth1 say i go to set it to
192.168.1.1
with netmaks 255.255.255.0 it says default gw and now im lost.

my knowledge is pretty vast but this still makes me confused. I have eth1 plugged into a router and the rest of the xp machines on the xp machines and they are setup as 192.168.1.3 and .4 with the netmask and the gateway as dot 1 .

ALright that's as far as i can get.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

-Don

i should probably state that the webserver is working. People can visit it and everything, and i use the firewall settings that u can configure with gnome, allowing ssh and httpd which is what i needed for the firewall settings basically.
