odd situation

heres the deal, one computer i have wont connect through wireless to my secured network. My other computer will, and my two room mates computers will. The network was configured with an ubuntu computer. When the computer is at my apartment it wont connect to the neighbors network which is unsecured, but when i go to a friends house, it will connect to their unsecured network. no idea where to start troubleshooting this one, anything will be helpful. computer is running jaunty.

The secured network problem points to a problem with wpa_supplicant. Try doing it by hand

iwlist wlan0 scan Less
Find your network and address (a mac address, e.g. 00:11:22:33:44:55) run your mouse over the mac address. Then
iwconfig wlan0 essid your_essid ap <paste mac address>
when you run iwconfig you should see the word 'associated'
Then kill any running dhcp processes and run dhcpcd or dhclient

Sounds like bad info in /etc/sysconfig
