I use NFS and NIS on a fedora system from which users access
there are around a 100 users inside a folder on the server....and i want to change the ownerships of multiple users at a time....like i use the chown -R user1:user1 /home/user1 (dont remember correctly)
so i want to change the the ownerships for all the users that reside in the "users" directory...wic are user1 user2 user3 and so on....how can i do that???

You can just use something like
Code:
chown -R user:group *
to change all the user folders

or

Code:
chown -R user:group user1/ user2/ user3/
if you want to specify the user folders changed

Pretty standard BASH stuff...
