A program that makes firewalls/Nat scripts that arnīt so complicated

Maby I am just getting pedantic (I think thats the word)

Some people learn best by reading massive books I... I learn best by actually doing the thing (Kinesthetic I think is the wod)

I want to learn about firewalls and nat... but I also want it to work before I break it!...to Explain.

I have used some programs that make firewall/nat scripts... and they work fine but they are like 20 pages long and I canīt start to understand these scripts...

Does anyone know of a good program that makes a basic script that isnīt sooooo large?

I hate to say it, but "grey matter"

Have a read of this tutorial ...

Most of the "idiot proof" GUIs make a lot of entries that are out of order, hard to read etc.
do iptables-save and see the final result, sorted into order. Much clearer..

I think the idea is to learn it once, the tutorial does a good job of explaining things, then write/modify/disassemble a complicated one for the exercise.

I will give it a try

Thanks... I am going to give it a try although its kind of the opposite of what I was looking for... its 126 pages! I was kind of hoping there might be somthing a bit smaller...

There's a bulk of it full of the GPL license, and definitions of the command options, (about 60 pages) so skip to the scripts at the back, then when you get lost, start on page 1.
