RH9 and winXP

hi all,
i have a sony vaio pcg-grx550.

i have windows xp pre-installed. i installed RH9. installation was smooth.

linux is in a 5GB partition created using partition magic 8, at the end of my hard drive.

the problem is, it does not show the bootloader screen. it directly boots into XP.

i do not have a floppy drive yet.

can your bios boot beyond the 1024 cluster range ? (if no .... use a 100 Mbyte boot partition within this range)
(sounds stupid question, just chekcing ... I have seen this before) did you install any bootloader ?
Do you have any BIOS MBR (Master Boot Record) protection activated ?

If it directly boots the winxp bootloader, the boot loader wasn't successfully installed on the MBR ... .double check this

Also, If you installed the boot loader in the boot sector of the Linux partition rather than the MBR make sure you have reset the boot flag to the linux partition.
