RedHat 9 freezes on boot (Compaq Presario 905)

Hello,

I have installed RedHat 9 on a presario 905 notebook. Currently I am using grub as my bootloader. Grub boots WinXp with no problems. However, when I try and boot Redhat it freezes at:

mounting USB filesystem

Is there any arguments that I can pass to solve this problem?

try linux noauto

or

linux nousb

during installation. it worked for me

i think you have already installed rh9. When the grub menu appear select the red hat 9 line on this menu and then press 'a' and add nousb to the code line that has appeared,finally press enter
