Problems with an old laptop

HI everyone, mi old laptop (a Nec 2600 series)
All of a sudden didn not start anymore when I hit the power button.
I dont know what could it be. I woul really like to fix this problem... myself. I know about electronics and stuf... my guess is that it is a problem with the switch. cuase i hit the power and some indicator led turn on... but I dont hear the ussual little noise it used to make when it worked,
Any suggestions o anything, pages with info, or any particular similar experiences happened to you?

From your terse description, it sounds like a bad power supply.

thanks, I thought so too.... any idea or webpage, where i can check out for info and see if i can fix it?

Idaho thanks for the link... it look really complete... but althogh i searched.... i found nothing related... but the service manual is usefulll
