Try downloading alsa-driver-1.0.13.tar.bz2 from alsa-project.org It should compile on FC6. Also, why the "--with-sequencer=yes" option? Intel audio doesn't support midi.
I just looked at the alsa changelogs, and there was a patch specificly to fix this in the separate driver package (it's not needed in the integrated driver of course). Download this snapshot.
Unfortunately, nothing has been done to date, mainly due to lack of documentation.
The good news is I just found a recetly released programmers data sheet for this audio product on IDT's web site (IDT bought out the PC Audio division from Sigmatel). This means that driver work can be done fairly soon.
For now, could you please post a bug in the alsa-project.org bugzilla? Once there is a bug listed here, I can attach the documentation, so that other programmers can jump in (I'm currently working on a different codec).
Actually, I might be able to implement this in the next day or so. I'll need a few things from you, though, to make this easier.
Put together a log file with output from the following commands:
lspci -s 0:1b -vn
cat /proc/asound/card0/codec*
Send this to me directly (email) to gruemaster <AT> gmail.com. I'm writing the preliminary code now, but will need this little bit of info to finish. I'll send you a patch along with instructions on how to build, install, and test it as soon as I can.
I need some help with my sound. I'm running Ubuntu 6.10 on an Acer 5100 laptop. sound works fine when I boot from live CD, but goes to right speaker only after installing to HD. if I open the mixer and mute then unmute the main volume, then the left speaker works again, but I have to do this every time I reboot.
