If you have a laptop, model of the series Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo don't be afraid installing linux!! Works perfectly and recognises everything with no trouble!!! The only problem is the Lucent winmodem but with the proper help works fine!! Just install and play (like plug and play!).

This thread was written for informing (you guys!) reasons....

I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo D 1840 with Suse 9 pro on it, although most things do work, not everything does.
I dont have 3d accl, need agp driver for sis645 chipset (?)
SD card reader doesnt work.

The wireless lan wasnt detected after install, but i found drivers for it.

Which model do you have?

I have D8820 and an older FH24 and I use Mandrake 9.2 for these machines (bequase of the limited hard disk space). I had some propblems with the winmodem (as I was expecting to have) but everything else was detected. You should try Fujitsu-Siemens site for further help. They have articles on how to make your onboard devices work on linux.I think if drivers are needed you can also find them there. I tested the same machines on suse 9.0 and work even better! The winmodem was detected automatically. I don't know if you need drivers for chipset but propably you do. Sorry, my knowlege is limited (newbie). If you search google for the devices that don't maybe you'll have better luck...
