New laptop - Mint compatible?

I'm about to purchase a new laptop, but need to be sure that it's Mint 20 Ulyana and/or 19.3 Tricia compatible. Both Cinnamon.

There are two choices for CPU: i5-1035G1 or i7-1065G1.

Are these good?

If there's likely to be any problems elsewhere in the machine, please let me know and I'll see what the components are.

Check the specs at the vendors' websites. As long as they are Intel inside, you will likely be okay. If they have other wiresless chipsets (Realtec or Broadcom come to mind) or non-Intel graphics, such as NVidia, it would be a good idea to research the specific devices for Linux compatibility.

I know that those devices can be got working, but it often takes some extra steps.

This is what I'm looking at:

https://www.novatech.co.uk/laptop/home/

I had a laptop from Novatech before and Linux Mint went straight on without any problems, but obviously I need to be sure.

Brigadier,

As frankbell has mentioned, this laptop is Intel-based and you should have no problems installing Linux Mint.

Brigadier,

It’s your money, but do you really need to spend £760 on a new laptop with an Intel i7 CPU and 16 GB of RAM to run Linux?

These two at £600 and £520 will do the job just as well:

In any event, good luck with your new laptop.

Brigadier,

You can save even more money with this Asus laptop (no OS) at £450:
