Left click is scroll ??

I have picked up a Presario 1925 recently and was going to throw FC2 on it. Loading the OS tonight and noticed that during the install i had to use scroll up on the touchpad to left click. Well even after the install finished when i was in X the left click did not work, had to use scroll up to left click. I checked the Xorg.conf and set the mouse for two buttons the rebooted but still no left clicky. I am stumped.

you will probably need to change the mouse protocol being used by X. Different mice send different signals for different clicks, and the protocol allows X to figure out which signal corresponds to each type of click. So it sounds as if you have the wrong one. Unfortunately, I don't know which protocol is the right one. But you can change it by adding the line
Code:
Option "Protocol" "protocol_name"
to the mouse section of xorg.conf.
Most mice I've used use either the IMPS/2 or the ExplorerPS/2 protocol. You can find a list of protocols in the "mouse" man page.

also the zaxismapping in .XF86Config file may need tweaking, but my experience is changing the protocol to imps/2 and zaxismapping to "4 5" seems to work well
