Ok, try the package for Wily (15.10) here, although there may be dependency issues...

I tried both the Wheezy one (before you edited your post), and the wily one. After finding dependencies and installing the main package, I still get the same error.

Assuming you tried rebooting your computer after installing the packages, I'm not sure what else to suggest. How did you install the SynTPCpl file from RPM to begin with? Also, out of curiosity, what are the results of this command...

Replace the "<package_name>" with the exact name of the libwxgtk2.8-0 package.

I downloaded the rpm file from the hp website, and converted it to a deb package using alien (I did use the --scripts flag). It never complains about missing dependencies. It does create a shortcut, but it does nothing, because it points to SynTPCpl, which complains about the missing directory/file.
