HID interface configuration

Hello

In the first place I'd like to greet everybody.

And now let's get down to business - I've got a laptop, and recently I've bought an A4Tech radio mouse-keyboard combo. It's got USB interface. Well - the problem is that I can't get the thing running. I'm using Slackware 10 distribution, with 2.4.26 kernel, into which I've compiled the USB HID service, but still nothing.

Moreover - the system recognizes and initializes this equipment:

usb.c: registered new driver hid
usb.c: registered new driver usblp
: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [A4Tech RF USB Receiver] on usb3:2.0
: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [A4Tech RF USB Receiver] on usb3:2.1

I've tried to configure it with gpm - with no effect.

BTW. - I'm using XOrg, not XFree86 - might this be the cause of the problem?

If anyone's got any solution to this problem please - don't hesitate

Thx

Hi,

welcome to LQ

Well, the kernel seems to recognise them perfectly! Does the keyboard work in console or do you only have problems in Xorg?

It's probably something in the Xorg configuration that has to be changed. Can you post the contents of the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file (only the [InputDevice] and [ServerLayout] sections)? Then I can have a look at them and tell you what has to be changed!

Greets,
nukkel
