FC5 Cannot open "Display" console

Anyone,

This may sound like a strange question, but it is one which I cannot figure out. I am unable to open my "Display" window in Fedora Core 5 GUI (System - Administraion - Display). When I click on it it just simply does nothing. Every other clickable option works fine. I just cannot open Display (to modify to Dual Head Mode). I have attempted this both as user and root.

Has anyone else run into this problem and/or have a fix?

Thanks,
sparky

Dual monitor configuration is a known issue with system-config-display, see....

Visit: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/index.cgi
Search term: system-config-display

As a suggestion open a terminal and type; system-config-display ;the error output from the typed command may be of help in resolving this also.

I tried the "system-config-display" and the output error is as follow: "File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xconf.py", line 32 in ? import rhpxl.monitor - ImportError: No module named rhpxl.monitor"

I am not sure what this means, I am guessing that it means I don't have the right monitor selected, but I am not sure. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I need to do? I am running FC5 on a Compaq Evo N610c.

Thanks,
sparky

Problem Resolved! For anyone else with this issue. What happended to me was this: after typing "system-config-display" and receving the error "..xconf.py, line 32 - import rxhxl.monitor" Apparently, I didn't have the python rhpxl program/script installed. Once I installed "rhpxl" through yum, it worked fine.

Hope this helps someone with similar issues,

sparky
