Bullseye update, HDMI not available, display unclaimed, HD Graphics 520 llvmpipe
Hi, I just upgrade to debian bullseye and my HDMI port is not found anymore (It was working with previous Buster)
intel HD graphic 520 drivers issue, Debian Bullseye, *-display UNCLAIMED, no HDMI
xrandr
Quote:
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 1920 x 1080, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 1920 x 1080
default connected primary 1920x1080+0+0 0mm x 0mm
1920x1080 0.00*
That sort of intel thinkpad should "Just Work".
Have you done some sort of graphics or Xorg configurations earlier, that could have influenced this?
Also, full output of `lspci -k` please.
edit:
sorry, is the internal screen still working as expected? Only an external HDMI screen wouldn't?
Thank you for your answer. I agree it should just work...
The problem get worst and better since last thread. By re-installing xserver I have manged to have the HDMI working but only when with the kernel (5.6.0-2-amd64 (recovery mode)), the GUI does not start anymore in standard mode...
When starting in recovery mode the Graphics (driver?) shown in Settings/About is 'Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 520 (SKL GT2)', I think to remember it was llvmpipe somethink when I could start in normal mode.
I have exactly the same configuration (Lenovo X260 with HG graphics 520) and I am facing exactly the same problem since the last update.
My external monitor is limited to max. 1024x768. Until last update it was working perfectly and I did not touch anything and customize anything through graphics or Xorg configuration.
Otherwise yes, the internal screen is working as expected. That behaviour did not change...Indeed only the external monitor is having the issue.
Hope you can help because this limitation in low resolution is very annoying... Thanks.
It is definitely because of the last kernel update 5.3.0-59-generic. This problem disappears by switching back to the previous kernel... My external monitor is well recognized and the resolution is set correctly.
Wait for the next kernel update?
Since you're both running Debian testing you have to expect this sort of bumpiness every now and then.
Thanks for reporting it, but it would be better reported to a Debian testing mailing list.
