3d graphics lag in redhat

I have a toshiba satellite 3000 with a mobile nVidia GeForce 2 Go (16mb) when i was using windows, things like 3d screensavers and games were very smooth and looked good; but in linux a simple 3d screensaver is very slow and laggy... Is there anyway to fix this?

perhaps you need to install nvidia drivers.
get the installer + instructions here.

you need to have your kernel source installed.

i am using the driver supplied by redhat 9.0, It is the "correct one" in a sense that the model of my graphics card is the same as the driver supplied (Geforce2 Go 16mb)..

Should i download the nVidia Drivers anyway?
