Unhappy intel 915GAV Board and ICH6 sound Problems


I am using Fedora 2 and Suse 9.1 and both distros are not detecting this on-board soundcard .i downloaded the drivers from intel site but again sound is scratchy or almost dead.ALSA also was of no help.Can anybody there show me a guideline?now am wondering whether Fedora 3 will support this card>pls reply

INTEL 915GAV Mother board
56kbps DAX Ext.Modem
