I just want to uninstall my modem and my wifi on my laptop, by the way im using fc3 and im having trouble with this 2 hardware on my IBM thinkpad laptop. I am thinking that if i can cleanly remove this 2 hardware, i can simple reinstall it again.
I dont quite understand... you want to remove hardware in order to _reinstall_ ? Herm... change made to your system will be lost during the reinstall?
About uninstalling hardwares... In Linuxthis usually mean to not load the drivers (or modules) that handle the hardware, or to remove the support for this hardware in the kernel. There is also some way to tell your system to not load a network card, as example. Since Linux doesn't probe hardwares by itself, unless it is supported in the kernel or probed by some (silly) daemon like kudzu.
