changing module.conf file
Hey guys I'm trying to install the drivers for my onboard sound card. I have a Realtek ALC880 High Definitions sound card. i followed through all the instructions to install it and am not stuck on one part they told me to edit my /etc/module.conf but everytime i try and save it i get this Error:
The document could not be saved, as it was not possible to write to file:/etc/modules. Check that you have write access to this file or that enough disc space is available. PLZ help me I've been trying to figure this thing out and I cant figure it out I tried using alsaconf but that didnt detect it either. If you have anyother ideas plz help |

2. check the disk space ... huh: modern systems shouldn't have a problem with this :) In general, if you have been given advise about what to do or what to check, you should let us know what happened when you tried to follow it or some reason why you didn't. You should also supply your distro, version and kernel ... as well as the HW configuration of the machine you're using. All this helps us provide help specific to you. Lastly: at the top of the pace you'll find a blue bar with menues in it. One of them is called HCL - go look up your hardware in that. Another one is "user CP": you are strongly urged to edit this to include your distro and version. I |
