Question xfce - setting date and time

Every time I try to set the time in xfce it changes back after a reboot. I am changing the time as root with the following command:
Quote:
date 0701040005
I've also tried this:
Quote:
date -s "Thu July 19 9:04 2007"
Is there something I'm missing here?

Is your synchronizing the linux time with your BIOS time? I want to say it is. I can't remember where the configuration is, but my memory says it is in /etc/conf.d/clock.

There is a setting in there which says if you want to sync linux to BIOS or BIOS to linux effectively.

HTH,
