Where on the CD is it located?
There is no installer for Gentoo. Gentoo must be hand built by following the excellent documentation. That's the appeal of Gentoo - raw speed, flexibility, and the ability to tweak the system exactly how you want it. Doing an install by hand teaches you much about the system, but you need to leave a couple of days to do it, depending on the speed of your system, and your skill level.
If you want a system that is basically Gentoo with a graphical installer, try Vidalinux. It is built around Gentoo, but there are some differences.
Originally posted by reddazz Sargek, there is a beta version of the graphical installer on the live cd.
Yeah, I just found that out - thanks! I still like installing the old fashioned way though. Kind of a right of passage, you know, like compiling your first custom kernel, eh? The fact I know it takes me three days to get the system built back up makes me even more motivated to fix something that breaks, or rather that I break.
