SUSE7.2 upgrade problem....

I've tried both upgrading from SUSE7.0, and performing a new install on a Compaq Deskpro. Yast2 hangs during the XWindows base installation, with no other visual indications that something went wrong.

I've updated another Deskpro with same harware configuration with no problems.

any thoughts?

When you restart the install does it always hang in the same place?? I'm just wondering if you might have a hardware issue that is only exposed during pretty big chunks of activity like decompressing a big X setup. Have you had Windows or any other OS running sucessfully on this box yet? Its absolutely identical to the other machines you've installed on right?

cheers

Jamie...

suse7.2...

Jamie,
Same hardware and installs fine with SUSE7.0. It's just the upgrade to 7.2 or a fresh 7.2 install that gives me the problem.

Hmmmm. I may have more memory in this box. I'll check again. It may be possible that larger chuncks are hitting an area of memory that's bad.
