running xdm fvwm on terminal

hi every body,
I use with success the xdm on terminal (tektronix somewhat old ) with redhat 6.0 ---> 7.1. because the gnome is to heavy for my terminal, i use fvwm.

Now I want to switch to more recent redhat ( 7.3 ) , I installed in the same way but it doesn't work.
I get the xdm login on the terminal, so the nfs , xdm work normally, but when I try to log , with fvwm destop, it logs out !!!!???

what is the difference between the 7.1 and 7.3 on fvwm or in the login ???

very strange I do exactly the same with 7.1 ( disable the access in the xdm/Xaccess , choose the AnotherLevel for the default starting )

from the console ( I mean the display attache to the machine ) the login is correct; but not from terminals

thank you for help
