Linux on a floppy?

Is there anything i could do to install Linux on a floppy or 2? All I want to use it for is to telnet into my box at work from home, but don't want to install linux on my laptop at home since it's actually my works laptop. All I would need would be, the kernel, a dialup script and telnet, everything else would be ran from work. If anyone knows of anything or if it would be possible to build my own that small I'd appreciate the help.

O yah, running telnet from windows isn't really an option because every win telnet client i've seen really blows and doesn't provide good cursor movement.

There is a lot of floppy distribution and some are well documented.

If you want to use a pc as a firewall of your network: floppyfw as even a news group.

Loaf is cool, but check out Tomsrtbt

Toms is a single boot/root disk that fits on one 3.5. It loads everything into RAM, including the root filesystem, so you're not actually "installing" anything. It has telnet, vi, pcmcia, a ton of NIC support and a few other bells and whistles.
Unfortunately it comes with the problem that it has no routing table after load so you're going to have to type in the route line manually and hand edit resolv.conf. Oh, but it will run dhcpcd on init if you're lucky enough to have a dhcp server around.

Its astounding how they crammed it all into 1.44 Megs, or actually, 1.77. Anyway, check it out:

Have fun,
