Hard Drive Diagnostics and Data Recovery tool on a LiveCD

Hi, all!

I'm currently learning how to do some basic-to-intermediate HDD diags and how to recover data from various file systems.

So, I need a live CD that has these characteristics

1. capable of booting on any x86 based machine (from i386 upwards, of course)
2. has following tools:
* msdos file system tools
* ntfs read/write mounting
* hexedit
* photorec
* testdisk
* (preferably also) foremost
3. is lightweight (preferably boots into RAM)

It is not necessary for it to be Damn Small but since my cable is slow, I'd like i to be small enough for a comfortable download (and quick update if it becomes my main toolbox).

I am aware of RIPLinuX, Trinity Rescue Kit, and Knoppix STD (although it's not really a rescue-oriented system).

I'd been searching for CD/DVD contents of Knoppix itself, but I didn't see the above mentioned tools. However, I know that photorec (missing in contents page?!) is included on LiveDVD, so I also want to know if it is available on LiveCD.

This question is primarily directed towards all of you, who have actually used such CDs.

Thx in advance!

B
