gentoo (2004.2) livecd (minimal)

Greetings all

Burned the Min live install cd for Gentoo(2004.2) to find out it did not boot. MD5 checked. Possible problem with the iso??? Or a possible problem with me? heh

I burned the Universal and it booted with no problems. Am scratching my head here, am I missing something? Any similar posts or FAQs? I am using Nero 6.3.1.6 and am burning on my Xp Pro box, SP2.

Grabbed the iso from:

http://152.2.210.109/pub/Linux/distr...2004.2/livecd/

TIA

How did you burn it on Nero?

Try popping it in your drive whilst in Windows, and see if there is just an ISO file on it or whether there are more than one file etc.

iso

Burned the image to the cd...under ISO guidelines. In other words, there are multiple files burned to the CD.

Thanks for the response, I forgot to mention the procedure I went through it seems...guess because it is so automatic anymore.

i wouldn't worry about it since you said you already downloaded the universal...

If you are conserned, did you try burning it more than once? perhaps you just got a bad burn...

And BTW... 2004.3 is out now... might have better luck with a more current livecd??

Appreciate the response halo14

True, it is not a major concern, but I suppose a heads up to whomever may be d/l'ing or attempting to d/l the minimal install iso. Was curious about the min install, but have just started installing gentoo from the universal. I am impressed thus far with the instructions from the gentoo handbook!

I didn't get to do much research on the 2004.3 version, but what I came across told me to stick with 2004.2...supposedly a more stable version. shrugs. Either way, I'm on my way to gentoo-land! I may do a download session for 2004.3 min install if all goes well with this stage1 attempt.

weeeee!
