Finnix - Boot from iso file

I have a partition on my hard drive that contains iso images of CD/DVD bootable distros. I have booted the Finnix image many times and it works just fine. My problem is that if that partition was not cleanly unmounted, Finnix will only boot part way (load kernel and initrd). The script inside initrd will look for the iso file but it will not find the iso image. I can understand if the image was corrupted, but has has not been corrupted yet. If I could get Finnix to boot, I can always test the iso image against it's md5sum.

I have experimented using the boot the parameter "findiso", but I have not seamed to figure it out. Has anyone here had similar issues or found a boot when the filesystem was "unclean"?

Until today I had not heard of Finnix.

Do you have Finnix installed or are you just running it as a Live CD?

Are you having to use umount cmd each time you want to un-mount that partition with the .iso images?

No, but trying to boot up with a Live CD and copying those files to an external or usb flash drive might be a good idea.

Running fsck will help if the fs needs repair.
