@blademe - I don't think I have ever purchased a computing magazine in SA - but there's a good community of people who'd be prepared to fill up a CD or two with whatever distro you want. The only local communities I know of are technically Ubuntu-focused but have members with other distros - you could try the ubuntu-za list via https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-za.

Or, buy some local-only prepaid bandwidth for around R15 a GB.
