yeah, any distro would work really, its all about downloading and configuring the right packages. suse pretty much has it all already and sets up the application association very well, thats why i say suse.

if you're wantint to do video editing, suse my be too sluggish, and i'd say go with something lighter like ubuntu or slackware, maybe even gentoo if you're not too new to linux.

I think I may go back to slackware. Right now I'm still deciding. I ditched slackware for ease of use...and then learned that doing so was like using windows. Ease of use - lack of good performance. No bashing SuSE. I love SuSE..but compared to other distros...even windows for me, it was slow. I have no idea why...but 9.3 crawls.
