i noticed that there is a lot of distros that have there own sub-forums (Fedora, Mandrake, etc.) but i dont see a gentoo section. Why is this? Was it ever there and if so why did it dissapere? if not then why isnt there one?
A search of this subject (Gentoo Forum) would have shown that this question has come up a number of times. I don't want to type the answer agan, so follow this link: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=195731
It's not that they need to ask (although pro-actively requesting would be nice), jeremy's policy is that for us to have a forum here for a distro, we need to have some kind of support from the Distro maker. for example, the Linspire forum has Lindowskendall as a participant - Lindowskendall works for Linspire and LQ's Slackware forum is the the official Slackware forum. So the support varies, but if the distributor won't agree to it, we won't have a forum.
