wmaker and gdm

I just installed Libranet 2.7, I wan't to use WindowMaker as my window manager. I know it's installed, but it's not in the list when I log in with GDM. Any ideas?

WindowMaker

In your home directory there should be a file named .xinitrc
Edit this file and add the line:

exec wmaker

If there are other lines just comment them out with #.
Save and exit then WindowMaker should start as your default manager.

I do not know if GDM will overrule the .xinitrc file or not. Let me know how it goes.

Hope this helps.

Hmm, I looked in my home directory and I don't have that file...
Could I just make it?

Most certainly you can make it

If this doesn't work then GDM overides .xinitrc

In that case I will refer you to this Link and it should get you taken care of.

Cheers
