Is this price justified in any way?

Is this price justified?
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/154811

I really fail to see any features that would justify the price of almost £3000.

Maybe £296. Probably a typo.

Oanda sez: 2,963 BP = $4,628 US

Holy s***!!

I think you can go to the HP website and get their price for the same configuration.

What is the import duty going into the UK?

The cheapest offer on the link provided by brianL is £1100 + VAT (=still below £1500!!!) in HP store.
I mean the specs are good (good for £1500). I bought my HP laptop 2 years ago. It's got all the fancy
stuff like blue-ray, hdmi, 4gb ram, etc, but the cost was slightly over £400.

Overpriced for specifications? - I think you are being too diplomatic in your comment.

I haven't got the slightest idea about the import duty.

I have been buying stuff from ebuyer.com for the last 5 years. They are usually quite good when it comes to prices.

I reckon two things contributed to the price:
1. the word 'elite' in the model name
2. the cost of windows licence

If you don't buy that laptop, my family will starve. Is that what you want? 'Cos that's what'll 'appen! And that's why it is fully justified.

Now all of you, go buy that machine.

A truly heartrending appeal. I shall rush out and buy one as soon as I've stopped crying.

All of us?! They have only 1 in stock.
We can chip in and buy it together. Can I have it on weekends?

Yeah, it's going to be difficult sharing it between all the LQ members, but we must do something to save XavierP's family.

Well, it would be tastier and more nutritious than a laptop.
